History: On the planet of Pandora, Moxxi was once a part of the Hodunk clan. The Hodunk clan, for lack of a better explanation, is a clan of rednecks that run the Hodunk Speedway. At what is assumed to be a rather young age, Moxxi got married to Jimbo- another member of the Hodunk clan- and had a son (Scooter) with him. Moxxi went on to have four more kids, all girls, one of which was the portly Ellie. Things were going rather smoothly up until the clan leader ordered Moxxi to kill someone and put Ellie up as the clan-wife; at which she responded by killing the clan leader herself and leaving the Hodunks and taking her children with her. She had since consciously masked her southern accent to something a little more sultry and refined.
She seems to have a loving relationship with Scooter, and is a bit protective and critical of Ellie. We have yet to see what became of her other three daughters, but Moxxi seemed to have let them fly free with their lives. Scooter became quite the mechanic, along with Ellie. Since leaving the Hodunks, Moxxi went on to get married 2 more times.
Her second husband was Mr. David Shank, her sexually exciting bisexual boy toy. She later sends the Vault Hunters to assassinate him, and when they are successful she seems a little heart broken about it, implying that she might've still had feelings for him, or at least some sentimentality over it.
The third husband was Marcus Kinkaid, a weapons dealer in Pandora. He was good with money, and good with his hands; though things didn't work out for whatever reason and they split. They are still in speaking terms and are mostly civil to one another.
It's implied that since their breakup, they might still enjoy a no-strings-attached fling every so often. She had a sexual relationship with Lucky Zaford, the son of the Zaford clan head-- probably mostly as a fuck-you to the Hodunks.
After her third failed marriage, Moxxi decided to create her Underdome; an arena where psychos and bandits could fight to the death-- which she considers her fourth marriage. Any relationship after that, well, are all short term relationships and one night stands. Her promiscuity and lacking modesty makes for an interesting life for her.
Mordecai became the champion of her Underdome, and along with a decent cash prize, he got Moxxi. Their relationship was mostly sexual, of course, and for whatever reason Mordecai became rather attached to her. He began making it clear that he wanted to basically whisk her away, which contradicted with his attention to Bloodwing, and along with his alcoholic nature, Moxxi was easily won over by the very attentive and charming Handsome Jack (at the time). After Mordecai lost a bet to Handsome Jack, Moxxi became Jack's woman.
Their relationship seemed to have gone rather smoothly at first. Jack took good care of Moxxi, shot anyone who looked at her in a questionable way, and was a bit of a romantic. His over-possessive nature led to his eventual distrust of her. Jack was convinced that she was cheating on him, and quite tired of Jack's clinginess she kicked him to the curb. In response, Jack destroyed her Underdome in a jealous rage. That didn't end well. Moxxi went on to look for ways to inconvenience him and make his life hell.
Personality:
Throughout the game, Moxxi is an innuendo infested bartender, with a love for violence and a soft, emotional side that's often hidden away. Moxxi could be said to have two personalities - her own, and that of her stage persona, the entertainer and ruler of the Underdome.
Moxxi as a person is a compassionate, sentimental and caring person. She cares about the people that are good to her and her family, and takes her friendships to heart. After the issue with the Hodunks, Moxxi became incredibly protective of her children. She might be a little stuck on appearances, being very critical of her heavy set daughter Ellie... mostly because she wants her to be taken care of and is worried for her. To anyone that wrongs her, her children, or friends, you better believe Moxxi would be out for blood. Though, if she doesn't have to get her hands dirty, she wont.
Moxxi was a skilled fighter in her earlier years, one of her most prized possessions being her pistol Rubi. She's best known for her hot body, sultry swagger, and booming charisma. She's promiscuous, crass, and very vocal about sex. She's had so many notches on her bedpost that it's practically a toothpick, had three failed marriages, and innumerable lovers both male and female. She's known to flirt and make innuendo on just about everything, and her advances are typically cause for her to be rather fickle and experimental with her sexual partners: video taping sexcapades, taking risque photographs for Marcus, letting Bloodwing stay in the room and 'watch' during sexy time with Mordecai. he has a problem with attachment, clingy-ness, and jealousy... which are main players to why she broke up with Mordecai, Jack, and Motor Mama. She admits that the innuendo is a defense mechanism for her. What this might mean, not really sure. Unfortunately they don't elaborate on this much in the game. Keeping things shallow probably keeps her from getting serious. She hates being ignored, or being reminded of her roots. She has hid her natural southern drawl since leaving the Hodunks and never looked back.
She enjoys conversation and sharing information, and listening to problems like a good bartender. She loves being the center of attention; not only does she dress provocatively, she enjoys the rush of getting a crowd excited. The roar from the Underdome is just as exciting to her as a new partner or opponent in an arena.

Most of what Moxxi is good at involves sexual positions and techniques. She is an amazing bartender, and while she's more than capable to take care of herself, she's not opposed to persuading someone else to take care of business for her. She's also got amazing stage presence, loving the attention of a crowd, and gushes charisma.
She has a weakness for charming men and aggressive women. Her constant need for physical closeness is probably her downfall, which is why she doesn't typically stay in a relationship for very long.

She has intense blue eyes, and her face is usually caked on with China-doll geisha like makeup with a smear down her left eye and a beauty mark above the left side of her lips. She also has a heart-shaped tattoo dancing right next to her cleavage on her left boob. She wears more purple now, but in the past wore red.
Age: Over 40, but she looks like she's in her late 20s.

In the back of her mind, she didn't care all that much. She'd still be making a living one way or another. People needed to drink, and she was more than willing to supply. The woman was talented, in many ways.
But there was that concern; Jack. She caught wind of him through Mordecai and Lilith through the grapevine. While back in Pandora, Moxxi had kept her distance seeing as how Jack was powerful and capable of causing a lot of damage. Back there the people of Pandora, the Crimson Raiders, had power in numbers. Badass Vault Hunters helped too. Here, there wasn't much of that. But Jack didn't have anything either.
Maybe this was her chance to get her shot in on Jack in person. The question now was where to find him. He could be anywhere, really. Without his armies by his side, he was probably mostly harmless, but she didn’t want to take her chances.
